A Christmas Wish

As I was putting up our Christmas tree, I thought of our newest success story on CSO that was sent in from Cowgirl728 and Farmerat6008. They are planning their wedding for October 2010. I thought of the new life they are about to venture in together. It made me want to look back at some of the success stories CSO has had in the past.

One of my favorites is from "AussieCowboy and Dusty4U". Dusty4U was a beautiful blonde, 40 something year old. She was one of our models that we used for various CSO pages. She notified us that she had met a wonderful man on CSO from Australia, who owned a ranch in the beauty of the Australian outback. It was the man of her dreams, and she felt that she had truly found her knight in shining armor. They sent fabulous photos of their outdoor wedding that took place on their Australian ranch.

Another favorite happy ending was from "Legend", a woman from Washington State. She had been on CSO for a few years and was enjoying meeting not only cowboys on our site, but be-friending cowgirls also. She had made a lot of friends. There was a man whom she had dated in the past who had disappeared in her life, but she longed to find him again. Guess what? He happened to be browsing CSO and found her profile. He joined and contacted her and they were so overjoyed to have found one another again. Who would have thought after all of these years they would have found one another again? They began dating and started over from where they had left off. They contacted us with their wedding date.

We hope with this holiday season, you will find that someone in your life that you have been searching for. Whether it be that significant other, or just a friend to share your life with. We have always felt CSO was a place where people could come and feel comfortable meeting others. We have strived to keep our site country, wholesome and a place that you can feel that you can come, kick off your boots and call it your country home.

We want you to receive the wish that comes from your heart this Christmas Season! Merry Christmas everyone! See you on the trail!

A Thankful Season

With Halloween over and Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I think of the many things that I am thankful for. Yes, I am thankful for my health, family, my home, but I am truly thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know so many people from CSO! My life is better for knowing you.

With the latest "Happy Ending" that was emailed into us, it says, "I would like to Thank CSO for allowing me to meet my finace on your website! We would both like to have our profiles removed from the website!! My profile name is Cowgirl728 & my Finance's name is FARMERMAT6008. We will be getting married next year 10/09/10!!

I think of the many success stories that have been emailed to us over the years. Nothing makes us happier than to hear that you have found your special someone. When TIME magazine contacted us back in 2000 to ask if they could publish a story about our website and include some of our Success Stories, we were thrilled! Now, almost 10 years later and numerous past success stories, our favorite email that we get is, "Delete my profile, I've found my Cowboy/Cowgirl, Thank you."

With the Christmas holidays only a little over a month away, we hope you will use CSO to your advantage and find a friend for the holidays! Nothing beats sharing the holidays with someone. So, saddle up, take the lead and email many of our CSO members. You never know who could be your match!

See you on the trail!

Fall Into Country!

As the days get cooler and I see the leaves turn their beautiful multi-colors, I can feel the crunch of the leaves under foot as I head out early in the morning to feed my 3 beloved horses. Jace, my sorrel colored Arabian, Dusty my bay Quarterhorse and Comanche a red roan Appaloosa. Yes, I love the early mornings of fall, the warm heat from the breath of a hungry horse and the smell of lightly fallen rain that has drizzled over night. It brings back so many memories of growing up in a small town.

There is nothing better than living in the quiet, sanctuary that the country gives you. Don't get me wrong, I love to visit the big cities and shopping as any woman does, but the peace of the country is something that everyone doesn't get to experience. I feel if you haven't been able to experience living in the country at some time in your life, you have missed out, BUT, there's always time! : ) If you don't have the luxury of living on a few acres of ground, take a day or a weekend to enjoy the smells, sounds and feeling of the country. What better date idea than to take a drive to see the colors of the changing leaves, and end it with a picnic in the coolness of the country air.

With Halloween coming soon, it won't be long and the Christmas holidays will be upon us. Let's take the time to enjoy the outdoors and the changing of the seasons. Find someone to share it with and what better place than Country Singles Online!

Have fun in your search and we'll see you on the trail!

Country Singles Overload?

As I was googling the other day to make sure we were still listed at the top of the page on the search engines, I decided to look up all of the Country Singles, Horse Singles, Farming Singles, Ranch, Rural, Rodeo..... single type of websites that were on the web and was I amazed! I guess amazed is the word for it. I don't even know if I can count all of these types of websites.... Where did they all come from?....

I remember back in 1996 when we first made our print singles newspaper into an online website. We were the first Country Singles idea to finally make it on the web. Because there was nothing else like it, we grew very quickly. There wasn't a lot of singles sites of any kind at that time on the net. We made sure we were first of all country, that our members were country and that our site was kept clean and what we could call "G-Rated".

Then in 1998, we decided to change our name and turned it into Country Singles Online. Aaah, a site for the true single cowboy and cowgirl. Where you could come, kick off your boots, hang your hat and find others with the same country interests. Once again, it stayed country, G-Rated and we knew we had found a niche that was going to be very successful. As the years went by, we noticed little country singles sites that would come and go, but nothing really competed with what we had to offer. Then in the early 2000's there were a couple of websites that started to advertise the horse/cowboy single websites and started to become a competition for us. But it was a good competition as we kind of fed off of one another.

As I just did a search, I was "amazed" at what there is out there now. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think there would be so many sites that were country single, cowboy single, equestrian single, farming single, rural single, western single, rodeo single etc., etc... At first I thought, how are people even going to know the true country sites from the other every day singles sites? Then I clicked into some of them. Yes, they state they are country, but as you will look at them, they are a singles site with a cowboy and horse on the front. A few of them are true country singles sites. Please be aware that many of these sites have a national singles database, but aren't country.

I remember an email we received from a viewer a while back who asked us, "I just did a search and found over 20 different country singles websites, why should I join yours?" Actually, back then I thought the competition was good for our site, but now I wonder if singles are actually able to sift through them?

So, I guess my parting thoughts in this long, drawn out blog is, please do your homework. Is the site Country? Look at the profiles, is that person country? If you want a wholesome site, is it wholesome? Do they provide all kinds of lifestyles? If those things don't matter to you than you'll do great on any of them. But if those things matter to you, please do some homework, check them out, ask them questions and make sure it's for the type of person that you are.

Thanks for reading! I know this was long and I won't be publishing blogs this long in the future, I promise : ). I just thought this was important to bring up.

Happy Searching and see you on the trail!

Countryfied Blogging!

I thought a fun addition to Country Singles Online would be a blogspot! Hopefully it will make it a little more personal for the Country Single perspective. I can't believe that it has almost been 12 years since the launch of Country Singles Online! How the time has flown! We thought before the holidays, we wanted to give Country Singles Online a new look and added features. Some of the added features are, the Country Happenings page, throw a lasso and post a free profile.

The Country Happenings is back! You can post the activities that are happening in your area. This is a great way to plan a get together with other CSO friends to meet at a certain place and enjoy whatever activity has been planned.

The Throw a Lasso option is another name for flirting. If a member has posted a free profile, they have the option to throw a lasso at a member and let them know they are interested. That way, the member can in turn email them back. Full memberships can also throw a lasso. It's just a fun way to let someone know you are interested without emailing the words.. : )

Posting a free profile is back! We had this a few years ago, but discontinued it because many that were coming in weren't country singles. But because we have had many emails asking for us to add this option, we have decided to try it again. Let us know how it is going!

We have some exciting contests, games and fun new features that will be added this upcoming year. We hope you will look forward to them and stop by and catch up with all of the new news on our blog! We will be updating weekly, so we hopefully will see ya'll soon.

See you on the trail.
